The Cavoodle, also known as the Cavapoo, is a cross between Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle. The Cavoodle is a small sized dog with a thick soft coat that can be wavy or straight. Their snout is usually medium in length and their eyes large and brown. Being a mixed breed, their appearance can differ between dogs. The Theodore breed is a new breed in development, based on the Cavoodle. Theodore breeders are registered with the MDBA (Master Dog Breeders and Associates). Cavoodles are very affectionate and gentle in nature, have a medium energy level, and are well suited for families with children. They can adapt to living in a small home, unit or apartment - as long as they receive daily walks. Cavoodles typically have a very friendly temperament, however they can be prone to separation anxiety so early socialisation and training is a must! Cavoodles are generally a healthy breed. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels however, can be prone to heart disease. It is important any breeding dogs are heart tested, to reduce the risk of passing this disease on to their Cavoodle puppies. Cavoodles are usually 25-38cm (9.5-15in) in height, weigh between 5kg-12kg (11-26lb) (as an adult) and have an average lifespan of 10-14 years.
